Spencer Acquires TIGG Corporation, Specialty Manufacturer in Air and Water Treatment
November 14, 2014 | The Spencer Turbine Company has agreed to buy Oakdale, PA-based TIGG Corporation, a specialty manufacturer in municipal water treatment, industrial process applications and environmental remediation, the company announced today. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.Since 1977, TIGG Corp. has developed and provided a broad range of activated carbon filters, activated carbon adsorption equipment, systems, and services for environmental remediation and the removal of trace contaminants from air, water and process liquids and gases. TIGG produces standard product designs as well as custom designed solutions to meet customer requirements. TIGG also provides specialty steel tanks and pressure vessels.
TIGG’s products and services are primarily used by industrial and commercial facility operators for the treatment of wastewater, vapor emissions, and storm water discharges; industrial facility operators in the chemical, energy, and pharmaceutical goods industries; municipal and private water utilities for the treatment of drinking water; and a variety of environmental service providers, including environmental engineers, remediation contractors, and general construction contractors.
Both companies will continue to operate autonomously under their existing brand names. TIGG will continue to be based at its corporate headquarters in Oakdale, PA and its manufacturing facility in Heber Springs, AR.
Spencer’s extensive representative network across industrial and municipal markets provides TIGG with a greatly expanded sales channel.
Mike Walther, Spencer’s president and CEO, said, “The complementary products of Spencer and TIGG afford systems integration opportunities in a number of gas processing applications that present significant growth opportunities for both companies.
